Fit Over 40 Review
By Katie Turner Platinum Quality Author

Fit Over 40 is another excellent diet co written by the creator of Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle. Although written by the same author the content is very different to what was inside that guide as this is more of a motivational tool than an actual diet.

Rather than being based on the exercise routine and diet of a proven bodybuilder or athlete this is basically based on studying the struggles, trials and tribulations of others who are 40 and older and how they dealt with their health issues. This makes it far easier to set your goals as you are being shown how the average everyday person can succeed.

Although a section of the book does look at training and eating the main aim as I mentioned is actually to give you the right mental attitude and motivation, which this guide claims is just as important to succeed as having the right diet.

If you are looking for a fast way to lose weight this isn't for you and nor is it for you if you are looking for an exercise workout that is all planned out for you. If however you are looking for something that will give you the motivation to lose weight then this is it because if this can't do it nothing will.

Fit Over 40 is a great book which will get you to take action and keep you motivated no matter what your age, and for this alone it provides tremendous value but as noted above you aren't provided with any real routines to follow which may be what most are looking for in their diet guides.

Fit Over 40 With Simple Exercise
By Chuck Smalley

Part of meeting goals and being successful is the ability to overcome obstacles. By applying this concept to our fitness goals, it is easy to see the logic of making your exercise workouts simple. Maintaining fitness over 40 is as much about assimilating fitness as a seamless part of our lifestyle, as finding the perfect exercise. Some level of moderate exercise is better than getting none at all.

If you are new to exercising, these concepts can help you get started more easily. If you already have and exercise regimen, incorporating some of the concepts here can help you fit in a workout on a busy day that would otherwise prohibit you from exercise because of schedule or other constraints. Simple exercises are good for providing healthy muscle tone and helping with flexibility and agility. These are things we need to keep in mind as fitness goals when we are over 40.

It is always good to mix up your current exercise routine with something fresh and different. I have recognized this in my own workouts. Even after working out steadily and regularly including a standard bench press in my workouts, it surprised me how much of a quality chest workout I got when I substituted a pushup exercise instead. Pushups are just going to work your muscle groups differently, which is a good thing. Your mind, your attitude, and your muscles will respond positively to the change in exercise routine.

Here are 3 simple exercises you can do, with a minimum amount of time and equipment.

Pushups

Pushups are a great place to start because they work more than just your chest. With your body extended, you are involving muscle groups along the length of your body including chest, forearms, shoulders, biceps, triceps, back, and abdominals. Keeping proper form and a steady pace are important to maximize the positive affect across the muscle groups. Focus on going all the way down slowly and keeping your abdominals in and contracted. Remember to breathe properly. Perform 4 sets.

Crunches

Nothing earth shattering here, but again I would encourage you to concentrate on proper form. Both the up and down movement should be steady and deliberate. Resist the temptation to pull on your head as you curl upward. Concentrate on squeezing and contracting the abdominal muscles at the top of the exercise movement, especially as your reach the end of each set. Perform 4 sets.

Lunges

Lunges will work your hamstrings and will get your heart pumping because of the larger muscle group and larger body weight incorporated. They will also help you with your sense of balance. Perform 4 sets.

Obviously, there are plenty of other exercise options available; these are just a few examples. The point is that you can get a well-rounded workout with just a few minutes and minimal equipment. If these exercises do not provide enough a workout, there are plenty of variations to make each exercise more challenging. Decline crunches while holding a dumbbell, for example, is a good way to take a simple exercise and make it more challenging. Good luck with your fitness goals!

How to Get Fit If You Are Over 40
By Peter Craig

Fitness for the over 40's

Are you like me getting to the age where all the latest fads and exercise routines seem to be increasingly more geared towards the younger generation ( I am not saying that they can't be done by us but the marketing certainly puts you off) all I want now is to know how to reverse the dreaded middle aged spread before it takes over my body completely.

If this sounds familiar then I may have something of interesting to share with you here.

I recently can across a program called FitOver40 by a guy call Jon Benson, attracted by the name of the program itself I decided to look at it a bit further.

Now I am a firm believer that we all have the ability to change the things about us that we don't like through the use of tools like NLP and Coaching.

Jon uses a key part of the NLP process, a area that was mastered by Tony Robbins in his own struggle to change his life around.

What is it?

Modelling, now when I say modelling I do not mean catwalk or super it is more like the art of creating a scale model of a car or boat, replicating the exact details to produce a look that is the same.

However when we model people it is their actions and behaviours that we are trying to replicate, what is it that makes then different to us, why do things work for them but not for us.

Jon had a wake up call when his Doctors told him he would die if he did not change his life; he weighed over 220lbs had 38% body fat and was a 44" waist.

It was then he decided that by identifying and then modelling successful health and fitness experts he would be able to learn much quicker what it was he needed to do to get his life back on track.

Following 12 months of modelling he had achieved massive results and had come up with what he could only call his Master Mind Model.

What were the results?

In 12 months Jon had reduced his body fat from 38% to just 9%

His waist size from 44" down to 33"

Dropped his resting heart rate from 98 to 59

Plus many other positive results.

Will this work for others?

Well the simple answer to this is Yes, Jon's students have had immense success and have credited this system with getting them back on track and allowing them to live their lives to the full once again.

The author

Jon Benson is now able to count many of the very people that he had once modelled as friends and colleagues and continues to try to help other people achieve the success he had.

Co-author of the program is well known health and fitness expert Tom Venuto author of the top selling internet eBook 'Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle' and hardback publication 'The Body Fat Solution.'
